What does being a FSC Certified printer mean?
- The premise behind FSC certification is sustainable forestry. Sustainable forestry ensures that careful long-term forest management is taking place. FSC auditors review the forest management periodically to ensure the forest mangement is following FSC standards.
- FSC certification tracks the movement of the wood from the forest, to the paper mill, to the paper distributor, to the printer, and then to the end user using chain-of-custody FSC certified numbers. FSC chain-of-custody prevents non-certified wood, such as some types of reclaimed wood, from entering the distribution channel and diluting the quality of the wood.
- Advertiser Printers, Inc. is a FSC certified printer meaning they can buy FSC certified paper from the paper house and put FSC logos on the finished product.
- The FSC certified logo shows the finished product was produced using FSC paper.
